I wanted to make a quick entry somewhere to sort things out in my head. Forgive my ranting if you happen to be unfortunate enough to be reading this. I realize I've been trying to cheat myself into becoming a drawing "prodigy", for lack of a better term. I've been practicing my anatomy, which has been showing improvements, but I can never seem to get the lighting and the shadows right. Then I had one of my mother's friends, who is a professional artist and sculptor, check over the progress of my drawings over the last year to year and a half. He told me that I do have potential, but my lighting sucks, and therefore we decided that I'm starting COMPLETELY OVER. That is, I have started drawing repetitive, boring pictures of fruits, vegetables and food in general. Mostly apples, though. Ever since my last attempt at an apple, I have not picked up my sketchbook, disheartened. Apples are not appealing to me at all except as a food item so I have a hard time engaging myself in drawing. Though I will try again, I cannot tell when but I know that I will try to bring my apples to perfection. That is all. Ugh... -dies-
